A Relaxed Beginning to the Wedding Day
Their wedding was held outdoors in the venue’s gardens, surrounded by nature and framed by the Magaliesberg mountains. It was a beautiful setting for a celebration that felt simple, elegant, and deeply meaningful.
There was no need for anything excessive. The landscape, the people, and the emotion of the day gave the wedding everything it needed. We began the day by photographing Janita and Mikal as they prepared for the ceremony.
Because both the preparations and the wedding were taking place at the same venue, the morning had a wonderfully relaxed rhythm. There was no pressure to travel between different locations, no concern about traffic, and no unnecessary disruption to the flow of the day.
Everyone could settle into the experience.
The couple had space to get ready without feeling rushed, while their families could move between rooms, check in on one another, and become part of the anticipation. The excitement gradually built as outfits were completed, final details were checked, and loved ones gathered before the ceremony.

The Most Memorable Ring Bearers
One of the most personal details of the ceremony was the appearance of Janita and Mikal’s two Labradors as their ring bearers.
Including them made the ceremony feel even more like the couple’s own. It was playful, heartfelt, and completely personal — a reminder that weddings are at their most meaningful when couples allow the day to reflect the life they have built together.
